What We Need

This page is for a basic list of things that the Auxiliary can use. Not everyone is up to volunteering for field deployment or working a disaster site, but everyone can help out. For volunteering, see the Volunteer page. We will try to keep this page updated as our needs change; if you see something you can provide or want to be involved with, contact us.

Operation Earwax: LCSA Deployment Exercise 23-24 June

This month, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Auxiliary will have its first field deployment exercise, Operation Earwax, timed to coincide with the National Amateur Radio (Ham) Field Day. The purpose of the exercise will be group training and operational test of field equipment (communications, power, etc).

The Deployment Process

In an emergency deployment, the first step (unless other instructions are given) is to load your gear (personal kit and any specialty gear needed for your role or which you have arranged to provide) and proceed to the Staging Area. At the staging area, equipment and personnel are unloaded (large equipment inventoried in place), checked in, and sorted for their destinations. Staff officers will confer with authorities, determine where we are ultimately needed, and issue orders for actual deployment.
